Buy the best quality paints that you can afford. Lower price usually means lower quality, less pigment and more binders.

Basic Brushes- long handles, synthetic bristles, best that you can afford. Cheap ones will not hold their shape. Do not be concerned with the numbers on the brushes. Each manufacturer is different.
Small flat "1/4”
Med flat "1/2 “
Large-flat "3/4”
Small round "1/4” or smaller
Soft mop-usually short handle, can be a cheap watercolor brush
Palette knife
Canvas boards 9x12 for exercises
Stretched, primed canvas for painting-18”x24” or larger

No odor paint thinner or turpentine -1 pt
Unbreakable container for turp or water Tight lid for turp. (Peanut Butter container)
Mesh or wire pushed into the bottom of the container to shake off the paint
Easel-either table or free standing
Small light or lamp with 25’ extension cord- clip on type may work for you.
Palette-can be fancy or just a rigid piece of plastic, masonite or wood Approximate"9”x12”
Aluminum Foil roll
Paint rag and paper towels
